For the first time in Australia after decades of mass manufacturing we have a structured career path to achieve competent skill outcomes for fashion design rather than for industrial factory operations!This qualification framework is a recognition that this sector is an increasingly important occupational category.

Australian students enrolling in these courses are eligible to apply for Austudy/Youth Allowance as they are fully accredited.

The qualifications you will receive when you have have successfully completed the course requirements and been assessed on the performance criteria for the Australian Textiles,Clothing and Footwear Clothing Package are as follows:

Certificate IV in Applied Fashion and Technology (LMT 41007 )

Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology ( LMT 50307 )

The assessment for these qualifications is project based and you will need to progressively store evidence of completion of your pattern drafting, photos of garment construction and drawing and designs in your folio. This in itself will become a valuable passport of your skills to demonstrate to others.

You can still complete the program without submitting your work for assessment if you do not require these qualifications or you are applying from outside Australia.
